Infrared Cameras: Uniquely Designed for Your Needs
IEC Infrared Systems (IEC) designs infrared cameras for specific purposes, each developed for specific applications. Our thermal imaging cameras are designed by scientists and engineers from every major discipline who customize them to each of our customers’ needs.
Infrared thermal imaging systems are inherently complicated and understanding them requires knowledge in a wide variety of fields. This requires smaller companies to outsource development or use off-the-shelf systems which were not properly designed for the application. On the other hand, IEC has the in-house knowledge & expertise to develop infrared thermal imaging systems.
For example, ground-based vehicles are one of the toughest applications for infrared cameras. Many other companies simply try to use (or perhaps modify) an off-the-shelf pan and tilt positioner, attach a camera and offer it as a mobile system. They often don’t have the knowledge, capability or resources to develop an infrared camera system that can survive the vibrations of a vehicle environment. IEC, on the other hand, designs thermal imaging cameras specifically and purposefully from the ground up. Unlike some other companies, IEC vigorously tests our infrared cameras before putting them out in the field. We don’t field-test with customers, but instead test our infrared security systems with independent third-party testing houses. After testing is complete, we make that data available to qualified customers.
Off-the-shelf products often come at a lower cost, but the customers get what they pay for. These infrared cameras are forced into applications that they weren’t designed for, and often don’t perform well or last long. On the other hand, IEC’s “purpose driven” infrared cameras are designed from the ground up to fit the application, and survive the environment. Our customized infrared cameras can be upgraded or further customized as the customer sees fit.
